Welcome to our Desert Sky Library
Breaking News
The library is closed for the day on May 7.
The end of the school year is quickly approaching. All library books are due May 9. Any books not returned by May 13 will need to be paid for. Textbooks may be checked out through May 15.
Do you have a flash drive? If not, you may check one out from the library for overnight use just like a textbook. Flash drives are a convenient way to save computer work at school then take home to work on further or vice versa. Or if your printer at home isn't working and you need to print out an assignment. Just save it to a flash drive, bring it to school and use our computers to print your work.
Parents, if you're looking for a great tax break, make a tax credit donation to the library so we can replace some very old and worn out books. Call Mrs. Morris for more information at 602.467.6513.
Book Talk: My Best Friend, the Atlantic Ocean and Other Great Bodies Standing Between Me and My Life With Giulio
By: Jane Harrington
As a class assignment, Delia keeps a journal and records her life and her fantasies about the Italian exchange student Giulio, who also happens to be her best friend Brady's boyfriend. This is a very funny love story involving poetry, football and baseball.

Meet our library staff
Mrs. Morris became Desert Sky's library teacher in 2002. She completed a master's degree in Instructional Technology with a school library administration emphasis in 1999 at Utah State University. Prior to accepting this position, Mrs. Morris taught in the classroom for 12 years in Utah, Idaho and Arizona. She feels the Library Teacher is an exciting position which enables her to support campus instruction, in all curricular areas, with both materials and technology. She loves helping students find "just the right book" and learning to use technology to find and utilize information. She enjoys working with both faculty and students here at Desert Sky.
Mrs. Morris' spends her free time reading (of course!), gardening, traveling with her husband, doing photography, cooling off in the pool, singing and playing the piano. She has two grown sons, three wonderful grandsons, a beautiful granddaughter and an adorable toy poodle named McNally.
Student Volunteers
Seventh and eight grade students assist in the library for a minimum of one semester. They check books in and out, shelve books, help keep the library tidy and organized, prepare bulletin boards, and assist Mrs. Morris with other projects. This semester's student aides are: Brandy, Rose, Danielle, Branden, Amie and Lindsey. They are very much appreciated and do an outstanding job.
