Library Policies & Procedures for Teachers |

Check out Procedure
List date, print your name, and item bar code (not call #) on the clipboard on door of professional library.
OR
Bring item to desk, tell aide your last name
Circulation
- No due date for teachers
- No checkout limit for teachers
- Never remove any materials from the library without checking them out!
- Materials checked out to teachers are NOT to be taken out of class by students
Check in Procedure
Put item in blue box on check out counter
Passes
- Students must have a library pass during school hours (including lunch & passing time)
- Each student must have his/her own pass
- Students may be issued month-long lunch pass by writing the name of the month across the top of the blue library pass
- Students are limited to 15 minutes when checking out books
- Students are to give stamped pass to you upon return to class as I occasionally write notes re: behavior, computers, materials, etc.
- Additional library passes are obtained in the main office. Students may not be sent to request blank passes
- If students are using the computers for research, please put the topic on the pass so I can better assist & keep them on task
- The weekly overdue list may be used as a group pass for those students who are returning, renewing or discussing their books with me.
Overdues
- Overdue list put in first period teachers' boxes on Tuesday afternoons
- Speak with each person on the list, telling them if the books are not returned by the following Tuesday morning before school, the student will serve detention
- Have student initial near his/her name
- Give list back to Mrs. Morris by Friday morning immediately following 1st period
- Students with overdues will be called out of class on Tuesday (or next day student is in attendance) mornings to pick up their detention form
