Library Hours: 7:55 - 3:10
Behavior:
-
Use best behavior, quiet library voices & follow all library procedures & rules in order to retain privileges and avoid detention

Serious infractions are referred to administration

No gum, food, candy, or drinks (including water)

Leave the library neat and orderly. Put books away in order. Push chairs in before leaving

Enter through the west door; exit through the east door
-
Immediately upon arrival, sign in and leave your pass in the basket

Immediately prior to leaving, sign out and get your pass stamped

Ask permission before printing anything
Consequences:

Verbal warning by library teacher or classroom teacher

Incident report

Detention and loss of library privileges for two weeks
-
Detention and loss of library privileges for one month
-
Office referral and loss of library privileges for rest of school year
Passes:
- Required during school hours unless with a teacher
- Month passes for lunch time may be issued by any teacher
- Month passes laminated on 1st Thursday of every month
- Each student must have own pass
- Students in library during lunch must remain for the entire lunch time
Circulation:
- Student ID number required for book check out
- 3 books may be checked out at one time
- 3 week checkout time plus one renewal
- Overdue books may not be renewed
- Lost or damaged books must be paid for. Students who fail to return overdue books will be assigned an after school detention.
- Students with overdue books may not check out another book until the overdue book is returned or paid for
Overdues:
- Every Tuesday afternoon your homeroom teacher receives an "overdue" list of all books that are due by that coming Friday.
- Students are notifed by their teacher and initial the overdue list.
- Parent phone calls are made on Friday to those students who have not renewed or returned their books.
- Every Monday there is an announcement on the tv reminding those who were on the previous overdue list to get their books back by Tuesday morning before school.
- Students who do not return their books by 8:10 Tuesday morning are issued a detention and may not check out books until their overdue is returned or paid for.
Computers: 
- For academic use only
- No email, chat, surfing the web or internet games
- Ask permission to print anything and everything in order to retain library privileges
- Accessing inappropriate web sites may result in administrative action
- Remember to follow the copyright law; always cite your sources
